What is Camp Apple?

*** NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS ***

For 40 years, the Camp Apple Program at Community Care Connections has provided a safe and supportive space for children with and without disabilities to continue their journey in developing life skills and social competencies. Your child will have the chance to practice a variety of interpersonal skills, including learning to get along with others, making friends, responding appropriately in social settings, advocating for themselves, and practicing good hygiene. Your child’s hard work towards becoming competent in these areas could open opportunities in their future for strong relationships and meaningful employment.

In 2016, the program expanded its operation to include an even split of children with and without disabilities in each session. We believe it is best for children with disabilities to learn these skills side-by-side with their typically-developing peers, allowing both to gain experience in teamwork and collaboration towards a common goal of success.

Camp Apple is broken down into three programs: Camp Apple Seeds, Camp Apple, and Teen Camp Apple. All programs participate in fun activities both on and off site to practice their developing skills in real-world settings. Our camp counselors are highly qualified and love their work with children.

Read on for a breakdown of each program and how you can join!
